Sit & Sew is an unstructured opportunity to work on your own project in the company of other Guild members. Be sure to bring all of the supplies you need (sewing machine, cutting mat, thread, etc.). This is a great time for everyone to get to know each other, share ideas, learn new techniques, ask questions, and just have fun!
Southminster Sit & Sew: The Charlotte Quilters’ Guild’s monthly Sit & Sew is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month (except December) from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Southminster retirement community located at 8919 Park Road Charlotte NC 28210.
- No reservation is required. You are welcome to come when you can and leave when you need to.
- Southminster will supply the tables and we will supply the power cords, ironing boards, and irons to share.
- Southminster provides coffee and cookies for Sit & Sew participants, and you can bring lunch and snacks if you choose to do so. There is a Grab and Go and a menu available in the building.
- Park in front of the main building. Extra parking is available in the church parking lot if needed.
- When you arrive, please enter through the front door and check in at the front desk (on your left) to confirm which room we will be using. If you like, you can drop your equipment off at the desk and then go park your car. A cart to move your equipment can be provided by the front desk.
Rotating Sit & Sew: We have several rotating Sit & Sews throughout the year hosted at various locations. These typically require a reservation or RSVP to the organizer.
